Jambo Kids - Lamu, Kenya

One of our favorite restaurants in Santa Fe is Jambo Café, run by Ahmed Obo, a native of Lamu, Kenya. To support his home community with the proceeds from his restaurant, he started a clinic in his hometown that provides much-needed services for the equivalent of $2 per visit. When I was in Kenya to teach a photography workshop, I arranged to stay a few extra days to visit his family and photograph his clinic. The photographs were used to decorate the restaurant and raise funds for the Jambo Kids Foundation.
