C4 Farms

For seven generations, Tommy Casados’ family has farmed and ranched in northern New Mexico, learning the nuances of balancing soil, water, plants, and animals for optimal health of the overall system. Like the generations before him, he uses traditional Spanish acequias (irrigation ditches), however, Tommy’s path has diverged slightly from that of his father and grandfather, with whom he still works. Rather than growing hay, his main focus is on cultivating dense, diverse pastures through plant species diversification and year-round rotational grazing. Such strategies benefit both the health of his cattle and the planet through soil carbon sequestration.

C4 Farms delivers directly to customers along the corridor between Tierra Amarilla and Albuquerque, including Santa Fe, via his website: c4farms.grazecart.com.
